This is a concept album covering themes such as cosmology, evolution, war, religion, sex and race. Released as a small batch CD edition in 2011. Artwork shows me playing boogie-woogie in one of the practice rooms at school.
Evolution
What it says on the tin. Featuring the voice of David Attenborough. Best experienced as the video.
Brothers and Sisters
Musical jaunt with monks, nuns and bells.
The Soldier’s Tale
Epic story of a soldier wounded in the US Vietnam war. Best enjoyed as the video.
Vorsprung durch Technik
A dark, dystopian view of the technology of war. Also best enjoyed as a video, where you will be treated to some retro-futuristic Langian eye candy.
Oh Yeah
An erotic fantasy. Best seen as the video. The dream sequence was prohibited by You Tube – it turned out to be night time security aerial drone footage over a Japanese city and was quite surreal. Now replaced by some of my own shot in Vietnam.
Cosmo Grill
Pun on “Cosmo Grill”, the name of a chic hamburger joint in Munich and “cosmo grill” meaning a tough interview on a cosmological topic, this time being John Humphrys interviewing the then Archbishop of Canterbury about his faith, with cameos by professors Stephen Hawking and Brian Cox. Also available as a video.
Ave Maria
Light-hearted rendering of this Bach-Gounod masterpiece.
